Cruise Day 1: Savannah

Okay. Well this really wasn't day one of the cruise but it was Day 1 of the vacation. On our way down to Jaxport (Jacksonville, FL) to catch the cruise we stopped in Savannah for the night. The city is very beautiful and is full of history. We recommend a trip to Savannah for everyone. We hope to go back and spend some more time there in the future. Here are some sights of Savannah. These are the buildings found all along River Street.
A steam engine in the river just before sunset.

This is the bridge over the river. Anyone going into Savannah from the north will have the awesome experience of driving over this large bridge.

There were many narrow stairwells leading up from the riverfront to Bay street.

This is a beautiful view of the sidewalk along Bay Street.

This is pretty wild. These are the front entrances to the River Street buildings off of bay street. Each door has a small bridge leading to it.

Here is the Masonic temple. We thought it looked pretty cool.

We both agreed that it is not vacation with a cannon picture, so here you go. And don't worry there are more cannon pictures to come in later posts.

This is a fountain in Forsyth Park. Well worth the 20 minute walk from our hotel.
Savannah was a great city and unfortunately we had to leave, but new adventures awaited us in Jacksonville.
