Cruise Day 2: Embarkation

After recovering the purse we did safely arrive at Jaxport where our cruise liner awaited. After a few hours in line waiting to check in, we finally arrived in our humble stateroom. We were excited that we got portholes in our room rather than no windows at all.
It may have been close quarters, but we were more than happy to call it home for a few days. For about an hour and a half after leaving the port we wound our way through the river (with a coast guard escort) before finally entering the open sea.
This was the closest we ever came to Jacksonville.
Our ship actually fit under this bridge.

We enjoyed our first sunset completely surrounded by water. It was breath taking.

Shortly after embarkation we went to a ball room dance class. The cha-cha style and direction was different from the style we both know so we were a bit confused. We were, however, able to adapt one new move to fit our style so it was worth the 30 minutes. In the evening we also enjoyed the welcome show which contained introductions of the cruise officers, a few dance numbers, and a comedian. We enjoyed this show as well as the others that we saw.
