UK Day 7: London Bus Tour

On day 7 we again boarded a train for our first day trip in London. What was the first thing we saw in London? Naturally we traveled to King's Cross Station to see the famed platform 9 3/4. Well we couldn't really access the platform with out a ticket,  but they did have a nice area for a photo shoot set up in the common area outside of a Harry Potter gift shot. If you wanted to wait in a really long line (not pictured) you could even put on the scarf of your favorite Hogwarts house and get a picture pushing a trolley through the wall (see random people in background of picture below). We love Harry Potter but not enough to wait so an indirect side shot sufficed for us. The rest of the day was fairly low key as we spent most of our time on the top (and open) deck of a double decker sightseeing bus. For several hours we traveled toured the city taking in the sights and planning which landmarks we would like to see up close. After becoming bored with the bus, we hopped onto the first of many river cruises and traveled from the London Eye to the Tower of London. Kelten really enjoyed chasing the pigeons outside of the Tower (see video below). Jennie was craving pizza and so we walked for a long while until we finally found a pizza joint (you can't argue with a pregnant woman's cravings even if you have no idea where the nearest pizzaria is). Although it turned out to be a chain restaurant rather than a local gem this particular location was cool because out the front window were the steps for Saint Paul's Cathedral. Talk about a scenic view as we ate. Shortly after we were headed home for the night on the train.
