This day was a family history day. We hired (rented) a car and we headed about an hour or so north of Milton Keynes. Martin was too chicken to drive on the left side of the road and brave the many roundabouts and so Jennie's dad served as the chauffeur for the day. Our first stop was in a small village called Isham. Isham is Jennie's mother's maiden name and so it doesn't take any imagination to come up with the family connection to this town. We stopped and walked around the small parish church before loading into the car and heading on to Lamport Hall in the nearby town of Lamport. One of the Isham's moved from Isham to establish his estate in Lamport. The estate has remained with the family for hundreds of years. The family did not discard items often and so the Lamport Hall has a great collection of artwork and items collected by the family over the years. It was a really enjoyable day and fun to visit home of some of Jennie's ancestors.
